How can I use Pickware POS in Germany and Austria at the same time?

With Pickware POS, you can sell your products from stores in Germany and Austria at the same time. In this article, we explain which settings are necessary for this.

Adding Sales Channels in your Pickware Admin

Each store in Pickware POS needs its own Sales Channel. To create a Sales Channel, click on + on the left under Sales Channels in your Pickware Admin, then click on Create Sales Channel in the Pickware POS row.

Create one Sales Channel each for Germany and Austria this way. Finally, in the respective Sales Channel settings, you need to set the corresponding country.

Configuring tax rates

In your Pickware Admin under Settings → Shop → Tax, you can add tax rates for different countries. This is done centrally via the standard and reduced tax rates.

By clicking on the corresponding row, you can set a standard tax rate, a reduced rate, and a strongly reduced rate for each country. Create the desired tax rates this way.

In the product properties, you can then assign the standard or reduced tax rate to a product. For tax-exempt products, the strongly reduced tax rate of 0% must be assigned. When selling at the POS, the correct tax rate is then selected based on the country set in the Sales Channel.

At the POS, the customer also pays the gross price set here, regardless of their location. However, the corresponding net price is calculated based on the applicable country tax rate and may therefore differ from the price shown in the Pickware Admin.

Fiscalization

In Germany, POS sales are subject to the KassenSichV, and in Austria to the RKSV. Since the fiscalization units are technically bound to POS licenses for unique identification, at least two Pickware POS licenses are required to use Pickware POS in Germany and Austria at the same time. Your fiscalized stores can be managed via your fiskaly account on the fiskaly Dashboard.

The setup of Fiskaly for Germany takes place during the setup of the POS App. As soon as you create a store in Germany, you'll receive an email from fiskaly with further instructions on setting up the fiskaly account.

The setup of Fiskaly for Austria must be done via the Pickware account before the POS App setup.

Creating stores in the POS App

When setting up the POS App, you create a new store for the respective shop and select the corresponding Sales Channel. This way, you can sell products in both countries at their respective applicable tax rates.
