How do I set up DHL Express for Pickware?

Before you can assign DHL Express products to your shipping methods and automatically create the corresponding labels, you first need to make a few settings.

Registering with DHL Express

To create shipping labels for DHL Express in Pickware, you need

Your API account then needs to be enabled for the MyDHL API. You can start this activation process through your DHL Express business customer account.

The following credentials are needed for the configuration in the Shopware Admin:

  • DHL Express account number (9 digits)

  • DHL Express username

  • DHL Express password

If you only have a 14-digit billing number for DHL Express, please contact DHL Express Sales to obtain a 9-digit DHL Express account number.

DHL Express settings

Before you set up DHL Express, make sure you have already configured the general settings for all shipping service providers. You'll find them under Settings → Extensions → General Shipping Label Settings. These settings apply to all shipping service providers you use. You can find all the details here.

The settings specific to DHL Express shipping can be found under SettingsExtensionsDHL Express.

Sales Channel

Here you can specify which of your Sales Channels the following settings should apply to. By default, the settings apply to all Sales Channels. If you only use one Sales Channel, select the All Sales Channels option anyway.

If you select a specific shop, all fields are initially linked to the general settings. You can tell by the chain icon and the greyed-out fields. Click the icon to unlink the field and enter individual settings, while other fields remain linked.

DHL Express credentials

Enter the username, password, and account number for your DHL Express account here. If you want to use the test environment instead of the production environment, enable Use testing web service.

Privacy settings

  • Enable shipping notifications by email – If enabled, DHL sends a shipping notification by email to the package recipient. For this, the Transmit customer's email address to DHL option must be enabled.
