When you cancel a picking process, you can restock the products that have already been removed right away. A stocking process is started automatically, which you can use to reverse the picking process you started. This is also how you empty a picking box: If you want to remove items from the picking box and put them back on their bin location, cancel the picking process and restock the goods.
After you cancel the picking process, the following view opens with two options for how to proceed.
Option 1: Start stocking
Here the stocking process is started immediately. You can restock the products directly on their bin locations.
This function is especially helpful if you frequently have to cancel identical picking processes or if you put items back on the same bin location by default.
Option 2: Restock later
Here the stocking process is created in the Paused state and a corresponding document is created. You can then find it under Goods receipt in the Paused tab (in older app versions Postponed). From there you can start it at a later time.
The Stock completely option is only available to you if you have the permission Stock stocking process completely. You can assign this permission in the Shopware Admin under Settings → Users & permissions . Select the relevant role here and scroll to the Pickware WMS section.
If the Goods receipt menu item is missing in the WMS App, your user does not have the corresponding WMS permission. You can cancel a picking process even without the permission to stock completely.
Stock is stuck in a picking box
If a product cannot be picked in the WMS App because the stock there is 0, or if your stock is incorrect and stock is tied up in a picking box even though no picking process appears to be open anymore, the cause is usually a canceled process where Restock later was selected. The associated stocking process is then still pending and the stock has not yet been booked back to the bin location.
The goods that were already removed still count toward your stock, but are not on any bin location. They therefore cannot be picked and cannot be removed from a bin location. Typical signs of this are:
When removing stock, the message
Der Bestand reicht nicht ausappears, even though the product is in stock according to PickwareA warehouse or bin location cannot be deleted, even though no stock is left there.
The stock overview shows a picking box for which there is no open order
In the stock overview you can see which picking box the stock is tied up in. If the picking box belongs to a picking process, you can go directly from there to the associated picking process.
With a paused stocking process, however, the picking box is not linked — instead, a note refers you to the WMS App. You can see which process belongs to the picking box there under Goods receipt in the Paused tab.
To release the stock again, work through the open stocking process under Goods receipt in the Paused tab (see Option 2 above). The picking box then disappears and the stock is available again.
Note: You can only complete a paused stocking process in the WMS App, not in the Shopware Admin. In the app, you can search for the product, for example by product number. When stocking, you select the destination bin location; the product's default bin location is preselected.
The picking process was postponed
If you postponed a picking process, the goods that have already been picked remain in the picking box and their stock is tied up there. If you want to put the goods back, cancel the postponed process and then restock the goods.
The order is already ready for shipping
If the order has already been fully picked and is in the Picked state, you go from the picking box in the stock overview to the associated picking process. Cancel this picking process and then restock the products in the WMS App under Goods receipt.
If the order was picked and packed in the WMS but never shipped in the WMS App, the picking box reserves the stock as long as the order is in the In progress state. If you only set the order to Completed in the Shopware Admin, only the reservation is removed. The goods are still in the picking box.
Cancel, postpone, or reset: What happens to the stock?
Whether goods from a picking box get back onto a bin location depends on how you end the process. With Postpone, the stock remains in the picking box.
Action | What happens to the stock |
Cancel | A stocking process starts. The stock comes back as soon as you restock the goods. |
Postpone | The stock remains in the picking box. |
Reset | The order has to be picked again. For the products that have already been picked, a stocking process starts, just as with canceling. |
Tip: After a cancellation, it is best to restock the goods directly via the stocking process instead of choosing Restock later.
