What do I need to consider when updating to Shopware 6.6?

The update to Shopware 6.6 comes with some major changes. To ensure a smooth update of your Pickware extensions, please make sure to follow the steps in our Update Guide.

Compatibility with other extensions

EasyCoupon

If you use the extension Gutscheine, Kaufgutscheine & Coupons - EasyCoupon from Net Inventors together with Pickware POS, please note that this extension is not yet compatible with Shopware 6.6. Therefore, wait before updating Shopware if you rely on these functions in your daily business.

Update Guide

1. Create a backup

Before installing updates, you should always create a backup of your data.

2. Deactivate Pickware POS, WMS and ERP Pro

As part of the Shopware update, all extensions must be deactivated. A corresponding prompt will also appear during the update process, allowing you to deactivate all extensions at once.

To avoid error messages, deactivate the Pickware extensions manually beforehand. If you use the individual extensions Pickware POS, Pickware WMS and Pickware ERP Pro, deactivate these first so that you can then deactivate Pickware ERP.
If you use Pickware ERP, WMS & POS instead of the individual extensions, you can deactivate it directly.

You can deactivate the extensions under Extensions → My Extensions using the checkboxes on the left.

3. Update Shopware

Now you can start the Shopware Updater. The updater will guide you through the process.

If you are still using Shopware 6.4.x, you cannot update directly to Shopware 6.6.x. If you haven't already, you must first update to the latest 6.5 version of Shopware. Only after that is an update to version 6.6.x possible. You can find all the information about updating to Shopware 6.5 and Pickware here in the Help Center.

Note: Compatibility

Since Pickware WMS and Pickware POS are obtained via the Pickware Account, Shopware cannot check these extensions for compatibility. The updater will therefore show you a corresponding notice. You can find all information on the compatibility of WMS and POS with the Shopware versions in the Pickware Account.

Note: Deactivate extensions

During the update, a prompt to deactivate your extensions will also appear. Be sure to select the option Deactivate all extensions. If you have not deactivated WMS, POS and/or ERP Pro beforehand as described above, an error message may appear. In this case, deactivate the extensions mentioned manually and try again.

4. Update Pickware

After updating Shopware to version 6.6.x, all Pickware extensions must be updated. To avoid errors, make sure to complete all updates first without activating the extensions.

The current update for WMS or POS can be downloaded from the Pickware Account. Be sure to select the version that is compatible with Shopware 6.6. You can then update the extensions in the usual way.

Once Pickware ERP, Pickware WMS and Pickware POS have been updated to the latest version, activate ERP first, and only then WMS, POS and ERP Pro.
