If you want to automatically get a suggestion for the right box size for orders, you can implement this using the Flow Builder. With this, you can easily define yourself which box size should be suggested for certain order conditions using rules and flows.
Procedure
Create rule
First, create a rule that accesses the dimensions of the order line items. Here's an example:
This rule should apply when the height, length, or width of a line item exceeds a certain value. Afterwards, the defined rule must be linked to a flow.
Create flow in the Flow Builder
Open the Flow Builder in your Pickware Admin.
Create a new flow with, for example, the trigger Order completion / Order / Received.
Then add a condition that refers to the rule you previously created.
Then define Assign custom field as the action and formulate the corresponding picking instruction that should be assigned to the line item.
Using rules and flows, you can create completely personalized packaging suggestions. You're not limited to just the dimensions of a product; you can also use this, for example, for products with a certain weight and/or from a specific manufacturer that require special packaging.
Example applications
Automatic selection of the standard box based on weight or volume.
Avoidance of incorrect packaging and unnecessary filler material.
Support for new employees during picking.
Notes on special packaging for specific items.
This method only suggests one box size and does not replace fully automated packaging optimization. However, you can combine as many rules and flows as you like to flexibly map your packaging system.
