Many recurring tasks in your daily operations can be automated. This saves you time, reduces sources of error, and ensures consistent processes in your online shop.
Automation via Flow Builder in the Pickware Admin
The Flow Builder allows you to automate various processes within your online shop using so-called flows. A flow is a chain of events set in motion by a specific trigger. Using action containers, you can add conditions or actions to determine what should happen when the trigger fires.
You can find the Flow Builder under Settings → Shop → Flow Builder.
Then click the Add flow button. In the General tab, you can first enter the name and description of the flow, set its priority, and set it to Active.
In the Flow tab, you build the flow according to the scheme described above. During installation, some default flows are created, which you can use as examples to understand the possible structure of flows.
Actions: Depending on the trigger, different actions are available, for example sending an email, generating a document, setting a status, or creating a shipping label. You can find a list of all Pickware-specific triggers in the Flow Builder here.
Conditions: For conditions, you first select one of your existing global rules for verification, or create a new one directly. This then creates two new paths, depending on whether the rule is true or not true. For each path, you can define which action should be executed, or you can add further conditions.
Within a flow, you can also use multiple action containers if you want to have several actions executed one after another.

Automation with the Shopify Flow App
In addition to the Pickware Flow Builder, Shopify also offers its own app for automating processes. Shopify Flow allows you to automate workflows directly within Shopify, for example transferring marketplace order numbers to Pickware.
You can find other useful additions to the Flow Builder with apps such as Mechanic or Address Ninja. You can find an overview of our recommendations for apps compatible with Pickware here.
