Connection issues between iPad and cash drawer

If the connection between your iPad and the cash drawer keeps dropping, first check whether the POS App has access to your Bluetooth. To do this, open the app settings and look for the POS App there. In the Allow Access section, enable the Bluetooth option if it is disabled. If the problem persists, the error could lie in the configuration of the cash drawer. To check this possibility, download the mPOS Utility app on your iPad from the App Store.

Then select your cash drawer and click on Setting:

Check here whether the Auto Connection option is turned on and turn it on if it wasn't already. This should fix the problem.

Cash drawer won't open

If your cash drawer can no longer be opened via the app, please proceed as follows:

  1. Check in the iPad's Bluetooth settings whether the cash drawer is still connected to the iPad.

  2. Next, you should install the mPop Utility app. Here you have the option to test the receipt printer as well as open the cash drawer. To do this, select the left tab Installation in the bottom bar. There, under the item Standard Model, you'll find the options Printer Test for the printer and Cash Drawer Test for the cash drawer. Here you can check whether a connection to your receipt printer and cash drawer exists. This is necessary so that the cash drawer can be opened from within the POS App.

  3. Using the mPop Utility app, you can activate the so-called multifunction button of the cash drawer and use it to open the device manually.

    1. To do this, select your cash drawer under Selected Device in the app. For this, the cash drawer and iPad must be connected to each other via Bluetooth.

    2. Select the Setting field in the bottom bar and open the Memory Switch Settings here

    3. Activate the Cash Drawer Open Switch by setting it to enable and then confirming with apply. Now you can manually open the cash drawer even when there's no Bluetooth connection between the devices.

Receipt is not printed

If, for example, you use the plugin PDF Invoice Automatically by Email from GOLLE IT, an incorrect configuration of the plugin will cause an A4 invoice to be displayed when completing an order at the register, even though a receipt is supposed to be printed. To avoid/fix this problem, you need to exclude the payment methods you offer in your store from automatic invoice creation in the configuration of the plugin PDF Invoice Automatically by Email:
