You account for the weight of the packaging using the Weight surcharge per parcel in the shipping method. Pickware adds this surcharge to the parcel weight, which is calculated from the weights of the products. This way, the shipping label shows the weight including the box and padding material.
Setting the weight surcharge
You define the weight surcharge for each shipping method. A carrier must be assigned to the shipping method for this.
In the Shopware Admin, open Settings → Shop → Shipping and select the shipping method.
In the Carrier section, you will find the Parcel configuration.
Under Weight surcharge per parcel, enter an absolute or relative amount for packaging and padding material.
Save the shipping method.
The surcharge applies to every parcel you ship with this shipping method. If you use multiple shipping methods, you set it in each shipping method.
Note: If a product has no weight, Pickware uses the Fallback package weight of the shipping method instead. You can find all options of the parcel configuration in How do I configure the shipping methods so that the correct carrier products are selected automatically?.
