If your cash register takes a long time to print receipts, search for products, or complete a sale, it is often waiting for your shop server. In the cases we analyzed, the Pickware services for license and TSE responded in less than 0.4 seconds. In each case, the shop itself was slow: Creating an order took between roughly 4 and 15 seconds on average, and product search took up to 12 seconds.
What you can check in your shop
Because the cause lies in the shop, involve your shop administrator or your agency. Check these points together:
Flows during order creation: Flows that run when an order is created or that trigger further flows make every sale take longer. In one case, the order creation time dropped to around 1.5 seconds after a flow for creating invoices was deactivated.
Message Queue: An overfilled message queue slows down the shop.
Server performance: Check whether your server has enough performance for the requests from the cash register.
Print the card payment receipt on the receipt printer
If you print the receipt of a card payment on the receipt printer instead of on the terminal, you save one print job. To do this, enable the option Receipts on receipt printer (Belege auf Bondrucker) on the card reader, see How do I configure the hardware for Pickware POS?
Send device logs to support
If you cannot find the cause, upload the device logs. They show our support team how long each individual step took. To learn how to do this, see How can I send an error report from the apps?
