Rolling stocktake: counting in partial counts over several days

Count your warehouse in stages in Pickware for Shopware 6 and use the Last counted filter to hide everything that is already done.

You don't have to count your entire warehouse in one day. With a rolling stocktake, you count in stages in Pickware for Shopware 6: You start a stocktake, count one part of the warehouse, for example a row of shelves, and finish it. The next day, you start the next stocktake for the next part. The Last counted filter hides everything that was already counted in previous stocktakes.

Why several small stocktakes are better than one long one

Bin locations that you don't count in a stocktake remain unchanged when you finish it. You can therefore finish a stocktake without any disadvantage, even if only part of the warehouse has been counted. Several short stocktakes have an advantage over one that stays open for weeks: Little time passes between counting and posting, and the differences can be posted reliably, see What do I need to keep in mind during a running stocktake?

Note: Pickware currently does not offer a perpetual stocktake with automatically generated count lists, for example based on reorder point or schedule. Check with your tax advisor whether partial counts throughout the year are sufficient for your annual financial statements.

Rolling stocktake in the Shopware Admin

In the Uncounted tab, the Last counted at column shows when a product was last counted in a completed stocktake of this warehouse. If it has never been counted, a dash is shown there.

You can find the Last counted filter in the filter menu. It is off by default. Using the presets in days or months or a custom date, you hide everything that has already been counted in the selected time range. If you choose 30 days, for example, all bin locations and products that were counted in the last 30 days disappear. The setting remains saved even if you leave the stocktake in between.

Rolling stocktake in the WMS App

In the WMS App, the filter is called Last counted more than and is located in the bin location list of the per-bin-location counting. The options are 10 days, 30 days, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. Bin locations that have never been counted always remain visible. The filter is saved per warehouse, and scanning works independently of it.

You can find the complete process in Performing a stocktake: process from start to finish.
