Address Ninja is a Shopify App for address validation in the checkout. The app checks shipping addresses directly during entry and prevents orders with incomplete or incorrect addresses from being completed. This reduces failed deliveries and the manual rework effort in order processing.
Address Ninja works on all Shopify plans and supports express checkout methods such as PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shop Pay.
Why does address validation make sense for Pickware?
Pickware takes over the addresses from Shopify orders and uses them for shipping labels, order documents, and warehouse logistics. Incorrect addresses cause problems in several areas:
Shipping labels with incomplete addresses cause returns or manual corrections.
Missing house numbers or incorrectly formatted DHL Packstation data lead to delivery errors.
Special characters in address fields can cause errors when transferring data to shipping carriers.
Address validation in the checkout ensures that only correctly formatted addresses reach Pickware. The app doesn't intervene directly in Pickware, but ensures that data quality is already correct before order processing.
Which validations does Address Ninja offer?
You can individually configure in Address Ninja which rules should apply in the checkout. Available validations include:
Missing house number — blocks orders where no house number was provided.
Invalid postal code — checks the postal code format depending on the country and blocks incorrect entries.
P.O. Boxes — optionally blockable if you don't want to deliver to P.O. box addresses.
Special characters — blocks non-Latin or special characters in address fields.
DHL Packstation & Paketshop — checks the correct formatting of DHL Packstation addresses (relevant for the German market).
Blocked postal codes — allows you to block certain postal code ranges, e.g. if you don't deliver to certain regions.
The configuration takes place directly in the app interface and doesn't require any technical prior knowledge.
Setup
Address Ninja is installed via the Shopify App Store and is ready to use within a few minutes. Configuration within Pickware isn't necessary – the app works exclusively at the Shopify checkout level.
