Extending Pickware: solutions for common requirements with apps

Pickware covers many processes directly – and can be extended for specific requirements with Shopify Apps. On this page, you'll find an overview of the use cases that can be covered with external apps in combination with Pickware – each with a reference to the corresponding detailed article.

The apps listed here have been verified and are compatible with Pickware. Other apps may also work with Pickware, but have not been explicitly tested by us.

Return portals

Return portals allow your customers to submit structured return requests. Depending on the app, workflows and compatibility differ – for example, whether returns can be processed in the warehouse via WMS.

easyReturns

Returns submitted via easyReturns are automatically displayed in your Shopify Admin and transferred to Pickware. The app is fully compatible with Pickware – returns and exchanges can be processed as usual.

You can find more information here: How do I use easyReturns with Pickware for Shopify?

8returns

With 8returns, return processing largely takes place in the 8returns dashboard. The automatic stock movements and Pickware's accounting are compatible with 8returns. However, returns must not be processed with WMS.

You can find more information here: How do I use 8returns with Pickware for Shopify?

Returnless

Returns submitted via Returnless can be transferred to your Shopify Admin – and thus also to Pickware – either manually or automatically. Returns can only be processed through Returnless itself. Processing with WMS is currently not supported.

You can find more information here: How do I use Returnless with Pickware for Shopify?

Marketplace connections

If you sell through marketplaces like Amazon or eBay, orders are usually imported into Shopify via an app and then reliably forwarded to Pickware.

Shopify Marketplace Connect

Shopify Marketplace Connect is an app developed by Shopify itself and enables direct selling on marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. Orders imported through this app are automatically transferred to Shopify and thus also to Pickware.

magnalister

Magnalister connects your Shopify store with major marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, OTTO, Kaufland.de, and Etsy. Orders imported via magnalister automatically appear in Shopify and can therefore also be processed by Pickware.

You can find more information here: How can I manage my sales via magnalister in Pickware?

Shipping platforms

With a shipping platform, you can create shipping labels directly from Pickware and flexibly choose between different shipping carriers – controlled via central shipping rules.

Sendcloud

With Sendcloud, you create shipping labels directly from your Pickware Admin and flexibly choose between different shipping carriers. Which carrier is used when creating a label is controlled via shipping rules in the Sendcloud dashboard.

You can find more information here: How do I set up Sendcloud for Pickware?

Bundles & bills of materials

Through Shopify, you can use various apps to sell product bundles to increase your average order value. Depending on the app, the feature set and compatibility with Pickware differ.

Shopify Bundles

Shopify Bundles is Shopify's native bundle solution. With this app, you can create product bundles directly in your Shopify store. The bundle components are automatically transferred to Pickware when an order comes in.

Bundles.app by Gazebo

The Bundles.app by Gazebo lets you flexibly create bundles for your Shopify store and automatically sync them with Pickware when an order comes in.

Limitations

With manual beta activation of Shopify Marketplace Connect

Due to the deeper integration with Pickware and the more flexible handling of bundle structures, we recommend using the Bundles.app by Gazebo for use with Pickware. It enables clean synchronization of bundle parent and bundle children, better display in the WMS, and automatic stock calculation that prevents overselling.

Taxes

For special tax requirements – such as correctly applying mixed taxation to shipping costs – there are dedicated solutions that are compatible with Pickware.

Shopify Tax

Shopify Tax is Shopify's own solution for automatic tax calculation. In combination with Pickware, correctly applying mixed taxation to shipping costs is particularly relevant.

You can find more information here: Mixed taxation of shipping costs with Shopify Tax

Automation

Many recurring tasks in daily operations can be automated. Depending on whether you want to automate processes within the Pickware Admin or at the Shopify level, different tools are available to you.

Pickware Flow Builder

The Pickware Flow Builder is integrated directly into the Pickware Admin and enables automation of Pickware-specific processes – for example, automatically creating picklists, automatically sending invoices, or creating return labels via flow.

You can find more information here: How can I automate my processes?

Shopify Flow

Shopify Flow is Shopify's own automation app and is suitable for processes that take place at the Shopify level – for example, time-based payment reminders, transferring marketplace order numbers, or automatically assigning tags based on specific order attributes.

You can find more information here: How can I use Shopify Flow with Pickware?

Mechanic App

The Mechanic App is a powerful automation app for advanced requirements that go beyond what Shopify Flow can do – such as sending custom emails, time-based tasks, or writing metafields. Setup requires technical knowledge.

Address validation

Address validation prevents incomplete or incorrect delivery addresses by performing the check right at checkout. This means only valid addresses reach order processing – reducing returns and manual corrections on shipping labels and order documents in Pickware.

Address Ninja

Address Ninja is a Shopify App that checks delivery addresses directly at checkout for missing house numbers, invalid postal codes, special characters, and incorrectly formatted DHL Packstation data. The app works on all Shopify plans and supports express checkout methods like PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

Dunning & payment reminders

If you work with payment methods like prepayment or invoice, you'll want to automatically send a payment reminder to your customers if payment is not received. In Shopify, this can be handled directly via the Shopify Flow Builder – without additional apps.

Alternative: invoice purchase via payment provider

If you use a payment service provider like Mollie or Klarna for invoice purchases, the provider takes on the payment risk and independently handles payment reminders and dunning. In this case, you don't need either Shopify Flow or an additional app for dunning – the entire process is handled by the payment provider.
