Onboarding Part 3: Process a test order with Pickware WMS

In this article, we'll show you step by step how to ship orders using the WMS App. Below, you'll also find the process described in this article as a video.

This article is part of our onboarding series. You can find all videos in this YouTube playlist or at the beginning of each onboarding article here in the Help Center:

Onboarding Part 4: Set up Pickware ERP

Download and set up the WMS App

First, download the Pickware WMS App. You'll find it in the App Store or by scanning the following QR code with the camera on your iOS device.

Then open the app and tap Start setup. Log in with the same credentials you use for Pickware Admin and follow the steps of the setup wizard. To be able to log in with your user in the app, you now need to set an app PIN.

To do this, open Pickware Admin and go to Settings → System → Users & Permissions. Click on your user account and scroll down. In the Pickware Authentication section, enter any combination of numbers in the App PIN field and click Save. To confirm, you'll then need to enter your account password once more.

Now log in to the WMS App with the PIN you just set. You'll be taken directly to the overview of all orders.

If you'd also like to set up a printer now, you'll find the option to do so in the app menu at the top left under Settings → Printer. Here, you can assign separate printers or printer trays for different paper formats and document types. You can also adjust these settings at any later time.

Pick an order

If you'd like to continue working with test orders, first create additional orders, as described in Part 2 of the onboarding series. The orders will then also appear in the WMS App.

To pick an order using the WMS App, select one of the orders in the Open tab, or alternatively use the search function to search by order number or name. In the order details, you'll see all the included line items and their quantities. If you're already using our barcode scanner, you can scan the corresponding product to capture it. Alternatively, swipe right with your finger to use the camera on your iOS device for scanning, or select the products directly on the touchscreen.

Once all line items in the order have been captured, picking is complete and you'll return to the overview. You'll now find the order you just processed in the Ready to ship tab.

It's also possible to create a shipping label directly after picking. We'll explain what you need to configure for this in the next onboarding article.
