As part of the Cash Register Security Ordinance (RKSV), all cash registers in Austria must be equipped with a so-called technical security device (TSE) from April 1, 2017. Our point-of-sale system Pickware POS therefore works together with the cloud SEE (signature creation unit) from fiskaly to meet these legal requirements. You can find more information about the RKSV here and here on our blog.
What do I need to do as a POS user?
A Pickware account is required to use the POS App. Before you can create a store location in Austria, you need to configure the RKSV settings in your account. For this, you need your company master data as well as your FinanzOnline access credentials. You can find a detailed guide here. Once the configuration is complete, you can finish the app setup as usual.
As soon as a store location is in Austria, it is reported to fiskaly and you will receive an email to set up your fiskaly account. With your account, you can log in to the fiskaly dashboard to view your registered store locations, cash registers, and completed transactions. Once your fiskaly account is set up, your created receipts will be automatically certified.
How does certification with fiskaly work?
Recording begins as soon as the payment process is initiated at the register. Created receipts are then automatically provided with a QR code and additional information for the tax office. Only the payment method and the individual partial amounts per tax rate are recorded, but not information about the products sold.
What happens if fiskaly experiences an outage?
Should the fiskaly or FinanzOnline service ever fail, you will notice this through a notice on the receipts or at the top left of the POS App. You can start the subsequent recording via the notice message in the POS App. You can find more information about this here.
