Before you connect your POS barcode scanner to your cash drawer or receipt printer, make sure to check the firmware version of your receipt printer. To update the firmware of your receipt printer, proceed as follows:
Install the app Star Quick Setup Utility from the App Store on your iPad.
Tap Selected Printer and select your receipt printer. It must be connected to your iPad via Bluetooth for this.
In the Printer Settings menu, you will find the Other section at the very bottom, and in it the Firmware Update entry.
Here you can see which firmware version is currently installed. To install a different version, select the file you want to install under File Name and tap Update at the bottom right.
