Before you connect your POS barcode scanner to your cash drawer or your receipt printer, make sure to check the firmware version of your receipt printer. To update the firmware of your receipt printer, proceed as follows:
Install the app Star Quick Setup Utility from the App Store on your iPad.
Tap on Selected Printer and select your receipt printer. It must be connected to your iPad via Bluetooth for this.
In the Printer Settings menu, you'll find the Other section at the very bottom, and there the entry Firmware Update.
Here you can see which firmware version is currently installed. To install a different version, select the file to be installed under File Name and tap Update in the bottom right corner.
