How do I set up DSV for Pickware?

Before you can assign DSV products to your shipping methods and automatically create labels, you first need to make a few settings.

Registering with DSV

If you haven't already, create an account with DSV first. To create shipping labels for DSV in Pickware, you need the following credentials:

  • Username

  • Password

  • Customer number

How do I enable my MyDSV account for the API?

If you can't log in to Pickware with your MyDSV credentials, your account probably has not yet been enabled for use with the DSV API.

Before you can use your credentials in Pickware, your MyDSV account must first be registered for the API by DSV Developer Support.

How does the onboarding process work?

  1. Send an email to [email protected] briefly asking them to enable your MyDSV account for the DSV Shipping API, and include the key details such as company name, customer number, contact person and your MyDSV username. This email automatically creates a ticket with DSV Developer Support.

  2. DSV Support will reply with a form in which you need to provide the following information:

    • your MyDSV credentials

    • your company and contact person

    • the desired API product (e.g. Shipping API)

    • any further basic information required

  3. Fill out the form and send it back. If you're using Pickware, you can refer to our existing developer account. So when filling out the form, keep the following in mind:

    • In the field Developer Portal user account under API system account, enter [email protected] (Pickware's existing developer account).

    • In the myDSV user account field, enter your own MyDSV credentials.

    • As the transport type, choose Road as a rule.

    • Booking, Labels and Tracking are the relevant API modules.

  4. After DSV approves your request, your MyDSV account will be activated for the API. You'll then receive a confirmation by email.

  5. After that, you can enter your MyDSV credentials directly in Pickware under Settings → Extensions → DSV → DSV credentials.

DSV Settings

Before you make the settings for DSV, make sure you've already made the general settings for all shipping carriers. You'll find them under Settings → Extensions → Shipping labels general. These settings apply to all shipping carriers you use. You can find all the details here.

You'll find the settings specific to DSV shipping labels under Settings → Extensions → DSV.

Sales Channel

Here you can define which of your Sales Channels the following settings should apply to. By default, the settings apply to all Sales Channels. If you only use one Sales Channel, still choose the option All Sales Channels.

If you select a specific shop, all fields are initially linked to the general settings. You can tell by the chain icon and the greyed-out fields. Click the icon to unlink it and make individual settings, while other fields remain linked.

DSV Credentials

Enter your DSV username, password and customer number here. If you want to use the testing environment instead of the production environment, enable Use testing web service.

Settings within the shipping method

When you select DSV as the shipping carrier for a shipping method under Settings → Shop → Shipping, you can make further settings for the shipping labels. Below you'll find the specifics for shipping with DSV:

  • Product – Currently, the extension only supports the Road product

  • B2CService – This option must be enabled if you ship shipments to private customers. This service is only available within Germany.

  • Goods description (package description) / Incoterm – These fields must be filled in.
