Under Settings → Shipping Costs in the Shopware backend, you can create and manage the various shipping methods for your online shop. To make creating shipping labels as easy as possible, we recommend assigning specific products from the respective shipping service provider to your shipping methods. This will display an Add shipping label icon directly in the orders list. The shipping product assigned to an order will be preselected in the Create shipping label dialog.
Assigning shipping products to a shipping method
To assign a specific product from a shipping service provider to a shipping method, open the shipping costs management via Settings → Shipping Costs. To create a new shipping method, click Add. To edit an existing shipping method, click the pencil icon in the respective row.
Now switch to the tab of the desired shipping service provider in the lower part of the window and select a product for the shipping method from the dropdown menu. The following image shows this using a DHL shipping method as an example:
Configuring service options
Depending on the shipping service provider, you also have the option of setting certain service options in advance for the individual shipping methods. When you then create a shipping label for an order with this shipping method, the corresponding options will already be preselected, but can of course still be individually enabled or disabled.
You can also find the available service options under Settings → Shipping Costs in the tab where you selected the shipping service provider's product (see screenshot above).
You can find information on configuring the cash on delivery service option here. Information on other DHL-specific service options can be found in this article.
Creating export documents
For shipments to countries outside the EU, such as Switzerland, customs documents are required. It is therefore advisable to assign all these countries to a shipping method (e.g. DHL Paket International) for which you have enabled the automatic creation of export documents by default. You can find details here.
Removing the assignment of shipping products to a shipping method
To remove the assignment of a shipping product to a shipping method, open the shipping method as described above, select No assignment in the [Shipping service provider] product field, and then click Save.
