You have three options for creating and editing products:
Create and edit products directly in the Shopware Backend if, for example, you don't have our Pickware WMS plugin.
In the POS App, products can be temporarily modified for the current sales process, or manual products can be created there that are not saved in the backend. You can find more on this here under the heading Special items / Manual products.
Via the WMS App , products can be quickly captured and created by scanning the barcode. You'll learn how this works in the following section or in this video:
Creating and editing products with WMS
Open the WMS App and first make sure that the correct warehouse is selected at the top. Then switch to the Products tab and tap the plus icon to create a new product. Alternatively, you can scan the barcode of a product that is not yet stored in the system. In this case, the input form will also open, with the EAN / UPC field already filled in.
In the input form, you can enter various pieces of information:
Product name – To save the product, you must enter at least a name.
Last purchase price – Tap on (gross) or (net) to select how you want to enter the price.
Sales price (gross) – Enter the gross sales price here.
VAT rate – Choose from all VAT rates set up in your backend.
Product number – If you have enabled the corresponding option under Basic settings → Products → Product numbers, a product number will be suggested to you. However, you can also assign your own number.
EAN / UPC – Enter the EAN here by scanning the product's barcode. You can also enter the number manually.
Stock – Enter the stock level here.
Minimum stock – Enter a minimum stock level here to optimize your stock planning as part of your supplier ordering process.
Storage bin – Select an existing storage bin here via search or by scanning the respective storage bin label, or create a new one using the plus icon.
Product dimensions and weight – Enter the weight, length, width, and height of the product here. The weight in particular is important if you're using our shipping adapters to generate shipping labels.
Product active – The product will only appear in the shop once it has been activated.
You can also maintain this information in the backend afterwards. There, you can also add product images and descriptions.
To edit existing products, scan the product (if the EAN has been stored) or use the search function, then tap Edit in the top right corner. Please note that this button is only visible if the appropriate permissions have been set up for your user.
If you no longer want to offer a product for sale, we recommend deactivating it rather than deleting it. You can find more information on the issues with deleting products in this article.
