Additional setup steps

Before you start using Pickware WMS productively, you need to maintain important data in your shop. Below you'll find a recommendation on how to proceed.

Maintaining bin locations

For bin locations to be displayed in the apps and to make optimal use of the apps, the corresponding field in the product master data should be maintained. You can read about how to maintain bin locations either via the backend or within the WMS App in this article.

Maintaining the EAN

To use the barcode scanner in processes with Pickware WMS, the EAN must be maintained in the product details. You can find information on how to easily maintain this using the barcode scanner here. Alternatively, the EAN can also be entered manually in the product details in the backend. If you carry products without a manufacturer EAN, you can find out here how to generate your own barcodes.

Supported barcode types

Pickware supports all relevant formats, such as EAN8, EAN13, GTIN, UPC-A, UPC-E, and Code128.

Note: 2D barcodes, so-called QR codes, are not supported.
