How do I set up GLS for Pickware?

To be able to assign GLS products to your shipping methods and automatically create labels accordingly, you first need to make a few settings.

Registration with GLS

To create shipping labels for GLS in Pickware, you need the following access data from GLS:

  • API key

  • API secret

  • Contact ID

If you have any questions, contact your GLS representative.

GLS settings

Before you make the settings for GLS, make sure you have already made the general settings for all shipping service providers. You can find them under Settings → Extensions → Versandetiketten allgemein (General Shipping Labels). These settings apply to all shipping service providers you use. You can find all the details here.

You can find the settings specifically for GLS shipping labels under Settings → Extensions → GLS.

Sales Channel

Here you can specify which of your connected Shopify shops ("Sales Channels") the following settings should apply to. By default, the settings apply to all connected shops. If you have only connected one Shopify shop with this Pickware Admin, still select the Alle Verkaufskanäle (All Sales Channels) option.

If you select a specific shop, all fields are initially linked to the general settings. You can tell by the chain icon and the greyed-out fields. Click the icon to unlink the field and make individual settings, while other fields remain linked.

GLS Login

  • API key, API secret – You receive this data from GLS after registration.

  • Contact ID - Enter your Contact ID here. You receive this from your GLS representative.

  • Nutze Testing-Webservice (Use Testing Webservice) – Enable this option if you don't want to use the GLS Productive Webservice. For more information, contact your GLS representative.

Label settings

Here you can select which paper format you want to use for your labels. For labels in A6 format, only the label itself is created; in A5 format, an additional copy for the sender is also printed.

Save data

Don't forget to save your entered data using the blue button at the top before leaving the menu. If the button shows a white checkmark instead of the word Speichern (Save), this means that all data has been saved since your last entry.

FAQ: When will my packages be picked up?
