How do I create a GLS end-of-day report?

Shopify — Submit the GLS shipments of a time range to GLS with an end-of-day report and print the handover list as a PDF for the driver.

With the GLS end-of-day report, you submit the GLS shipments of a day or time range to GLS in one go and receive a handover list as a PDF. You can print the list and have the GLS driver countersign it at pickup.

A prerequisite is a configured GLS connection, see How do I set up GLS for Pickware?

Create an end-of-day report

  1. In your Pickware Admin, open Settings → Extensions → GLS.

  2. Click End-of-day reports in the top right. The Shipping end-of-day reports overview opens.

  3. Click Create end-of-day report.

  4. Select the time range under From and To. For a single day, enter the same date in both fields.

  5. Confirm with Create end-of-day report.

Pickware queries GLS for each day in the time range and submits the shipments. Afterwards, you see how many shipments were submitted. If there are no open shipments in the time range, the note Keine offenen Sendungen im gewählten Zeitraum gefunden. appears.

Download the handover list

In the Shipping end-of-day reports overview, you find all created end-of-day reports with time range, state, and quantity of confirmed shipments. Use PDF to download the handover list. For each shipment, it contains the date, shipment reference, parcel numbers, and recipient, as well as fields for the signatures of the sender and the driver.

You can use the filters to narrow down the overview by carrier, state, and report period.

State and errors

  • Successful: All shipments were submitted to GLS.

  • Partially successful: The submission failed for individual days or shipments.

  • Failed: The end-of-day report could not be created.

  • No shipments: There were no shipments in the time range.

If errors occur, click Show error in the row to see the messages. For connection errors, first check your credentials via Test GLS credentials and create the end-of-day report again for the affected time range.

Which shipments end up in which end-of-day report?

What matters is the shipping date that GLS assigns to the shipment, not the time at which you created the label. For labels you create on the weekend, GLS sets the next working day as the shipping date. They therefore only appear in the end-of-day report for the following Monday.

Permissions

To view end-of-day reports, a user needs the permission to view orders in their role; to create them, they need the permission to create orders.
