Pickware uses the GLS ShipIT API for GLS shipping. You create the credentials for it in the GLS Developer Portal and have GLS activate them. To do this, proceed as follows:
Register in the GLS Developer Portal with a team email address: https://dev-portal.gls-group.net/
After logging in, open the menu item [Your email address]/Apps.
Click + NEW APP there.
Enter an app name and select the option Enable or Request for Authentication API v2 and ShipIT-Farm API v1. If you want to activate the automatic transmission of customs data to GLS, click Enable or Request for the Customs API v3.
Save your settings by clicking SAVE.
Now contact your GLS contact person to let them know that you want to use GLS with Pickware for Shopware 6 and that you need access permissions for the GLS ShipIT-Farm API and, if applicable, the Customs API. Provide the team email address you used and the app ID generated in the GLS Developer Portal, as well as your GLS Contact ID.
You will then receive confirmation of the activation from your GLS contact person.
For authentication in Pickware under Settings → Extensions → GLS you then need your API Key, your API Secret and your Contact ID.
For the new GLS API, you need a current version of the GLS plugin. Your credentials for the old GLS API no longer work with it.
Which credentials go in which field?
In the GLS settings in the Shopware Admin, enter the credentials from the GLS Developer Portal as follows:
API Key – the API key of your app, API Secret – the API secret of your app, Contact ID – a short number that starts with "2". Enter it without spaces. It used to consist of two blocks.
The Contact ID is not your login for the API. If you don't know it, ask GLS support.
What should I do if the credentials don't work?
Check in the GLS Developer Portal whether the Authentication API v2 and the ShipIT-Farm API v1 are set to ENABLED for your app. If only test mode works, ask GLS whether your app has been activated for live operation.
If the error message 403 account registration incomplete appears, GLS is reporting missing permissions for your user. In this case, contact your GLS contact person.
