You can find more about the document editor itself — views, scope, lock states — in the article How do I customize my order documents with the document editor? (Shopware 6) or How do I customize my order documents with the document editor? (Shopify).
Behind every document template is a template file. In the document editor's Expert mode, you can edit it directly — but this requires knowledge of Twig and CSS, and even a small change like an additional column takes a lot of searching. With Pickware AI, you instead describe in one sentence what should change.
Describing a change
Since Pickware AI always considers the context of the page currently open in your Admin, you can simply open the relevant template and phrase the adjustment the way you would explain it to a colleague:
Pickware AI also takes into account the dependencies stored in the template — for example, conditions for custom fields that don't appear in the document currently displayed but must be output in other cases. These are exactly the spots that are easily overlooked with manual changes. In addition, Pickware AI protects you from modifying protected or essential blocks and tells you so with a message:
What to keep in mind when resetting
The Reset customization button in the editor resets the entire template to its delivery state — not just the last step. If you only want to undo a single change, simply request it in the chat:
Mach den letzten Schritt rückgängig.
This works as long as the chat has an overview of the editing transcript. The longer you work on a template in one session, the less reliable this becomes. So it's better to work in short sections and check the result after each change, rather than going through a long chain of adjustments in one go.
