Pickware covers many processes out of the box – and can be extended with Shopify apps for specific requirements. On this page, you will find an overview of the use cases that can be covered with external apps in combination with Pickware – each with a link to the matching detailed article.
The apps listed here have been verified and are compatible with Pickware. Other apps may also work with Pickware, but have not been explicitly tested by us.
Returns portals
Returns portals allow your customers to register returns in a structured way. Depending on the app, workflows and compatibility differ – for example, whether returns can be processed in the warehouse using the WMS.
easyReturns
Returns submitted through easyReturns are automatically displayed in your Shopify Admin and transferred to Pickware. The app is fully compatible with Pickware – returns and exchanges can be processed as usual.
Additional information can be found here: How do I use easyReturns with Pickware for Shopify?
8returns
With 8returns, returns are largely processed in the 8returns dashboard. The automatic stock movements and the accounting of Pickware are compatible with 8returns. However, returns must not be processed with the WMS.
Additional information can be found here: How do I use 8returns with Pickware for Shopify?
Returnless
Returns submitted through Returnless can be transferred to your Shopify Admin – and thus also to Pickware – either manually or automatically. Returns can only be processed in Returnless itself. Processing with the WMS is currently not supported.
Additional information can be found here: How do I use Returnless with Pickware for Shopify?
Other returns portals (e.g. Loop Returns)
Other returns portals can work with Pickware if they fully synchronize returns with Shopify. What matters most is when the portal creates a registered return in the Shopify order and whether refunds are tied to the return. We do not yet have any experience of our own with Loop Returns.
You can find out what to look for in a returns portal here: Is my returns portal compatible with Pickware?
Marketplace integrations
If you sell on marketplaces such as Amazon or eBay, orders are usually imported into Shopify via an app and then reliably forwarded to Pickware.
Shopify Marketplace Connect
Shopify Marketplace Connect is an app developed by Shopify itself and enables direct selling on marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay. Orders imported through this app are automatically transferred to Shopify and thus also to Pickware.
Additional information can be found here: How can I use Shopify Marketplace Connect with Pickware?
magnalister
magnalister connects your Shopify store with major marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, OTTO, Kaufland.de and Etsy. Orders imported through magnalister automatically end up in Shopify and can therefore also be processed by Pickware.
Additional information can be found here: How can I manage my sales via magnalister in Pickware?
Other marketplace apps (e.g. TikTok Shop)
There is no direct integration with Pickware for marketplaces such as TikTok Shop. If you sell there via a marketplace app in Shopify, the orders arrive in Pickware as regular Shopify orders. For Pickware to process them, the line items must be linked to products in Shopify. Otherwise, the order does not appear in the WMS App.
When shipping, Pickware creates a fulfillment in Shopify and writes the tracking number into it. Other apps read it from there. If the carrier provides a tracking link, Pickware passes it on to the fulfillment together with the tracking number.
Shipping platforms
With a shipping platform, you can create shipping labels directly from Pickware and flexibly choose between different carriers – controlled via central shipping rules.
Sendcloud
With Sendcloud, you create shipping labels directly from your Pickware Admin and can flexibly choose between different carriers. Which carrier is used when creating a label is controlled via shipping rules in the Sendcloud dashboard.
Additional information can be found here: How do I set up Sendcloud for Pickware?
Bundles & product sets
In Shopify, you can sell product bundles with various apps to increase your average order value. Depending on the app, the range of features and the compatibility with Pickware differ.
Shopify Bundles
Shopify Bundles is Shopify's native bundle solution. With this app, you can create product bundles directly in your Shopify store. The bundle components are automatically transferred to Pickware when an order is received.
Additional information can be found here: How do I use Shopify Bundles with Pickware for Shopify?
Bundles.app by Gazebo
The Bundles.app by Gazebo allows you to flexibly create bundles for your Shopify store and automatically synchronize them with Pickware when an order is received.
Additional information can be found here: How do I use the Bundles.app by Gazebo with Pickware for Shopify?
Which app fits your store better?
Bundles.app (Gazebo) | Shopify Bundles App | |
Creation of the bundle parent | in the external Bundles.app | in the Shopify Admin |
Linking of bundle children between Shopify & Pickware | automatic during product import | automatic during product import |
Order line items in Shopify | Bundle parent and children | bundle children only |
Order line items in Pickware | Bundle parent in the order overview, bundle children in the detail view | bundle children only |
Display of the bundle parent in the WMS | ✅ | ❌ |
Order documents | Bundle parent | Bundle children |
Limitations | Imported orders cannot be processed automatically | Bundle parent is not displayed in the WMS, automatically split prices on order documents |
Marketplace compatibility | ❌ Marketplace orders cannot be edited via order edit | ✅ With manual beta activation of Shopify Marketplace Connect |
Due to the deeper integration with Pickware and the more flexible handling of bundle structures, we recommend using the Bundles.app by Gazebo with Pickware. It enables clean synchronization of bundle parent and bundle children, better display in the WMS and automatic stock calculation that prevents overselling. If you sell bundles on marketplaces, use Shopify Bundles with Shopify Marketplace Connect instead, see Can I sell bundles on marketplaces such as Amazon or eBay?.
Taxes
For special tax requirements – for example, the correct mixed taxation of shipping costs – there are dedicated solutions that are compatible with Pickware.
Shopify Tax
Shopify Tax is Shopify's own solution for automatic tax calculation. In combination with Pickware, the correct mixed taxation of shipping costs is particularly relevant.
Additional information can be found here: Mixed taxation of shipping costs with Shopify Tax
Automation
Many recurring processes in day-to-day business can be automated. Depending on whether you want to automate processes within the Pickware Admin or at the Shopify level, different tools are available to you.
Pickware Flow Builder
The Pickware Flow Builder is integrated directly into the Pickware Admin and enables the automation of Pickware-specific processes – for example, the automatic creation of picklists, automatic invoice sending or the creation of return labels via a flow.
Additional information can be found here: How can I automate my processes?
Shopify Flow
Shopify Flow is Shopify's own automation app and is suited for processes that take place at the Shopify level – for example, time-based payment reminders, the transfer of marketplace order numbers or the automatic assignment of tags for certain order characteristics.
Additional information can be found here: How can I use Shopify Flow with Pickware?
MailAction: Send Email in Flow
MailAction: Send Email in Flow extends the Shopify Flow Builder with an action for sending custom emails – for example, to automatically notify customers about a pickup. The email content can be designed directly in the Flow editor, including with support from Shopify's AI, and triggered by any Flow trigger.
The app is available in the Shopify App Store and is integrated into the Shopify Flow Builder as an additional action – no separate configuration in Pickware is necessary.
Mechanic App
The Mechanic app is a powerful automation app for advanced requirements that go beyond the capabilities of Shopify Flow – such as sending custom emails, time-based tasks or writing metafields. Setting it up requires technical understanding.
Additional information can be found here: How can I use the Mechanic app with Pickware?
Address validation
Address validation prevents incomplete or incorrect shipping addresses by performing the check already at checkout. This way, only valid addresses reach order fulfillment – which reduces returns and manual corrections on shipping labels and order documents in Pickware.
Address Ninja
Address Ninja is a Shopify app that checks shipping addresses directly at checkout for missing house numbers, invalid postal codes, special characters and incorrectly formatted DHL Packstation data. The app works on all Shopify plans and supports express checkout methods such as PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Additional information can be found here: How can I improve address validation in the Shopify checkout with Address Ninja?
Dunning & payment reminders
If you work with payment methods such as prepayment or invoice, you want to automatically send a payment reminder to your customers when payment is overdue. In Shopify, this can be set up directly via the Shopify Flow Builder – without additional apps.
Additional information can be found here: How can I use Shopify Flow with Pickware? — Payment reminders for open orders
Alternative: Purchase on invoice via payment provider
If you use a payment service provider such as Mollie or Klarna for purchases on invoice, the provider assumes the payment risk and independently takes care of payment reminders and dunning. In this case, you need neither a Shopify Flow nor an additional app for dunning – the entire process is handled by the payment provider.
