Shopify POS and Pickware

Shopify POS can be operated in parallel with Pickware ERP & WMS. This means functions such as purchasing, warehouse management, picking and shipping continue to be handled in Pickware, while in-store sales run through Shopify POS.

Restrictions when used together with Pickware

When using both together, there are technical particularities that need to be taken into account.

Shopify POS inventory management

If the same physical stock is sold both in the online shop and in Shopify POS, stock discrepancies can occur without special configuration. Here's how you can still use Shopify POS:

Shopify POS location without Pickware inventory management

Shopify POS gets its own Shopify location.

→ Sales and stock are not recorded in Pickware.

Shared location for Shopify online shop & POS

One Shopify location represents the total stock of the online shop + POS. This is assigned to a Pickware warehouse.

Separate Shopify shop per store

Each Shopify POS location has its own Shopify shop. Each of these Shopify shop locations then has its own warehouse in Pickware, which can be connected to the POS shop.

Vouchers

Pickware vouchers cannot be redeemed in Shopify POS.

Shopify POS orders in the DATEV payment export

Shopify POS orders cannot be invoiced through Pickware and are therefore automatically excluded from the DATEV payment export. This prevents incorrect posting records from being created for Shopify POS orders. These orders are automatically recognized in Pickware and marked with a corresponding icon in the order overview as well as i

n the order detail view. In the order overview, activate the Order type column and look out for this icon:

If you open such an order, you'll find the following note in the DATEV payments tab:

This order was created via Shopify POS. These orders are not supported in the current DATEV export. Therefore, no automatic DATEV payment was created.

Please do not create any invoices or documents for Shopify POS orders in Pickware, as these would appear in the DATEV document export without an associated payment in the payment export and could thereby affect the export.
