In this article, you'll learn how to manually trigger the order import from Shopify to Pickware. Normally, this happens automatically once Shopify is connected to Pickware, so new orders are transferred to Pickware upon receipt and existing orders are updated when changes occur.
Manually triggering the order import
There are two simple methods to trigger the order import for individual or multiple orders:
Via the "Open in Pickware" option (single order)
This method is especially useful if you want to edit a single order right away and jump directly to the corresponding view in Pickware.
Open the desired order in your Shopify Admin. Click on More actions in the top right, then select the Open in Pickware option.
This triggers the order import and takes you directly to the order in your Pickware Admin.
You can pin this function permanently to the order view so it's immediately visible. To do this, scroll down in the order, click on + Block, select the Open in Pickware function, and then click on the pin icon to pin the block for all users.
Via tags (one or multiple orders)
If you want to manually import or update multiple orders at once — for example, to retroactively transfer older orders that came in before Pickware was installed — setting a tag is recommended.
You can set tags within an order using the field at the bottom right.
For multiple orders, first select them in the order overview, then click the button with the three dots and choose the Add tags option.
You can then either choose an existing tag or create a new one. Then click Save.
Changing the tag updates the orders and triggers the order import.
