Shipping an order in the WMS App
In the WMS App, you can ship a fully picked order by scanning the barcode on the shipping label. Alternatively, you'll find the option Mark as shipped in the order details. There, you also have the option to reprint the created documents and the shipping label.
Where can I see ongoing picking processes in the Pickware Admin?
In the admin under Picking → Picking processes, you can see all picking processes that are currently in progress, on hold, or completed. On the right side, you can choose between different views and apply various filter settings. Using these views, you can, if needed, put ongoing picking processes on hold, cancel them, or ship them via the Pickware Admin. Each process is assigned its own unique picking process number. The views correspond to the On hold, In progress, and Ready to ship tabs in the WMS App.
In progress
Here you see all picking processes that are currently being worked on. On the right, above the view, you can filter the processes by User, Picking cart, Order, Warehouse or Picking profile. Using the blue button at the top, you can put individual or multiple/all processes on hold, and using the red button, you can cancel them.
On hold
Here you see all picking processes that are currently being worked on. On the right, above the view, you can filter the processes by User, Picking cart, Order, Warehouse or Picking profile. Using the red button at the top, you can cancel individual or multiple/all processes.
Ready to ship
Here you see all picking processes that are ready to ship. On the right, above the view, you can filter the processes by Picking cart, Warehouse, Order, Picking profile or the last modification date. Using the blue button at the top, you can ship individual or multiple/all processes, and using the red button, you can cancel them.
Are open picking processes taken into account when shipping?
When you mark an order as shipped in the Pickware Admin, Pickware automatically checks whether there are still any picking processes associated with it.
If there is a picking process with the status Ready to ship, Pickware automatically completes it during shipping and applies the already picked stock to the delivery. If any quantity is still missing afterward (e.g., in the case of partial deliveries), the remainder is deducted from the warehouse according to the deduction strategy.
However, if the picking processes are in the status In progress or On hold, the order cannot be shipped, and you will receive a corresponding error message.
What happens after an order has been shipped?
As soon as an order — via barcode scanner or manually — has been marked as shipped, the physical stock of the products it contains is automatically deducted, and the order status in the Pickware Admin is updated. A shipping confirmation is then automatically sent to your customers. No further steps are required on your part.
For the tracking code to be included in the shipping confirmation, shipping label creation and shipping must be done via the same channel — meaning either both through the Pickware Admin or both through the WMS App. For example, if you create the label in the Pickware Admin but ship the order via the WMS App, the tracking code will not be transferred to Shopify.
Note: You can add the tracking link to the shipping confirmation email. You can find the instructions for this here.
