Delivery thresholds (per country)

Note: Since 01.07.2021, the new EU-wide delivery threshold applies. This article is therefore outdated and remains available (for now) only for documentation purposes. Please also note that the Delivery threshold (DATEV) report now shows the data for the EU-wide delivery threshold. All data on the previous version of the delivery thresholds can now be found in the separate report Delivery threshold per country (DATEV). For more information on the new EU-wide delivery threshold, see our blog post.

With version 1.27.0.55 of the plugin, the delivery threshold feature was newly introduced. In addition, a new report Delivery thresholds per country (DATEV) was added under Marketing → Reports (Auswertungen), giving you an overview of all delivery thresholds.

To use the feature, you need to carry out the following steps:

1. Enter delivery thresholds
Define the delivery thresholds for the relevant countries under Settings → Basic settings (Grundeinstellungen) → Shop settings (Shopeinstellungen) → Countries. To do this, select the country and enter the corresponding value in the Delivery threshold (Lieferschwelle) field. Then check the box for Delivery threshold warning (Lieferschwellenwarnung) to enable the display of warnings in the backend. Also enable the Tax-free for companies (Steuerfrei für Unternehmen) field so that orders from business customers are not booked to the delivery threshold account. For this distinction to work correctly later on, please make sure that a VAT ID is stored in the customer data for all business customers.

2. Configure delivery threshold warning
Configure the delivery threshold warning under Settings → Basic settings (Grundeinstellungen) → Further settings (Weitere Einstellungen) → DATEV Export by entering, in the Show delivery threshold warning from (in %) (Lieferschwelle Warnung anzeigen ab (in %)) field, the percentage of the delivery threshold reached at which a notice should be displayed in the Shopware backend.

Note: The following steps 3-5 should only be carried out once a delivery threshold has actually been reached, since the accounts configured will be used from the moment of setup for every transaction going to the configured country with the specified tax rate.

3. Set up tax rates
Now go to Settings Basic settings (Grundeinstellungen) → Shop settings (Shopeinstellungen) → Taxes and add the corresponding tax rules for the standard rate (19%) and the reduced rate (7%) by clicking on the respective row and then clicking Add on the right under Tax rules. You can find an overview of VAT rates, for example, here.

4. Adjust the chart of accounts matrix
For a new installation or an installation after version 1.27.0.55, the adjusted chart of accounts matrix is installed automatically and can be used right away. If you are updating from an earlier version, you need to adjust the revenue accounts for the following entries in the chart of accounts matrix under Settings → DATEV chart of accounts matrix:

5. Add delivery threshold accounts
To set up the delivery threshold accounts, open the chart of accounts matrix again via Settings → DATEV chart of accounts matrix and switch to the Delivery threshold accounts tab. There, use Add account assignment for delivery threshold to set up the corresponding tax rates and the revenue account for the relevant countries.
