Gift vouchers are regular Shopware products. For a Shopware product to be used as a gift voucher, it first needs to be configured as such. Every gift voucher product is based on a voucher in the voucher administration. You can find more information about the Shopware voucher system here.
Creating a Gift Voucher Product
To create a gift voucher product, proceed as follows:
Create a new product or open an existing one.
In the Basic Data (Stammdaten) tab, set the VAT rate (usually 0%). Please also note the information about voucher tax rates in this article.
Enable the checkbox Product is a gift voucher (Artikel ist ein Geschenkgutschein).
In the Assigned Gift Voucher (Zugeordneter Geschenkgutschein) field, select an existing voucher or create a new one using the Create New Gift Voucher (Neuen Geschenkgutschein anlegen) button below it.
Select a voucher design. All voucher templates from the PDF document creation are available for selection. Here you can learn how to customize the existing templates.
According to the Shopware documentation, you can now specify all other desired or required information. This includes, for example, the sales prices per customer group, maximum quantity, free shipping, etc.
Properties of the Gift Voucher
Using the pencil icon next to the Assigned Gift Voucher (Zugeordneter Geschenkgutschein) field, you can open and edit the corresponding voucher directly in the Shopware voucher administration. The voucher administration can also be accessed via Marketing → Vouchers (Gutscheine). The following values are automatically set for gift vouchers:

You can edit these values afterwards. For example, to prevent remaining balances, the minimum order value can be adjusted to match the voucher's value.
In Shopware, you have the option to set the tax rate for vouchers to Auto-Detection. Please note that in this case, the highest tax rate in the cart will always be applied to the vouchers at the POS as well.
Restrictions When Redeeming Vouchers
Shopware offers the option to set restrictions on redeeming vouchers. Pickware POS only supports the validity period restriction. All other restrictions, i.e. products, customer groups, shops, or manufacturers, do not apply, meaning the vouchers can always be redeemed at the POS despite these restrictions.
Vouchers with Partial Amounts
The plugin only supports vouchers with full amounts. You can enter a non-full amount in the Shopware voucher administration, and customers can purchase and redeem it that way, but during the purchase process, different amounts will be displayed for the product price and voucher value in the frontend and backend.

At minimum, the following permissions are required to create and edit gift vouchers and gift voucher products:
