Performing an end of day closing in the backend (Shopware 5)
Via the backend, you can perform a manual end of day closing for DHL, DPD, GLS, and the Austrian Post. This creates a document that contains a list of all shipping labels that were created in the selected period. Have the manual end of day closing signed by the employee of the shipping service provider who accepts your packages, so that you have proof of handover. This way, the entire shipping process is verifiably documented. For UPS, the Swiss Post, and the Deutsche Post, no end of day closing is necessary.
To create a manual end of day closing in the Shopware Backend, follow these steps:
Go to Customers (Kunden) → [shipping service provider] → End of day closing (Tagesabschluss).
Select the subshop and the date for which you want to perform an end of day closing and click on Create end of day closing (Tagesabschluss erstellen). The generated document then opens in a new tab of your browser.
Note: To perform an end of day closing via the backend, you need at least the config → read permission.
DHL: End of day closing via the business customer portal
DHL automatically performs an end of day closing every day, during which the created shipping and return labels are manifested and billed. After this, a shipping label can no longer be cancelled or deleted. The time for the daily automatic end of day closing is 17:45 by default and can be adjusted in the DHL business customer portal via Package & Goods → Ship → Settings → Shipping notifications & end of day closing in the End of day closing tab.
