How do I get access credentials for the new GLS API?

As of March 18, 2025, Pickware will switch to a new GLS API for GLS shipping. You can already create your access credentials now. To do so, proceed as follows:

  1. Register with a team email address in the GLS Developer Portal: https://dev-portal.gls-group.net/

  2. After logging in, open the menu item [Your email address]/Apps.

  3. Click on + NEW APP there.

  4. Enter an app name and select the Enable or Request option for Authentication API v2 and ShipIT-Farm API v1. If you want to activate the automatic transmission of customs data to GLS, click Enable or Request for the Customs API v3.

  5. Save your settings by clicking SAVE.

  6. Now contact your GLS contact person to let them know that you want to use GLS with Pickware for Shopware 6 and that you need access permissions for the GLS ShipIT-Farm API, and if applicable the Customs API. Provide the team email address you used and the app ID generated in the GLS Developer Portal, as well as your GLS Contact ID.

  7. You will then receive confirmation of activation from your GLS contact person.

  8. For authentication in Pickware under Settings → Extensions → GLS, you will then need your API Key, your API Secret, and your Contact ID.

You need at least version 3.9.0 of the GLS plugin to be able to use the new GLS API. Starting with this version, your access credentials for the old GLS API will no longer work.
