If your barcode scanner case no longer charges, only beeps, or doesn't scan, work through the following checks in order. The cause can be the charging station, the battery, the iPhone's connector, or the case itself. If none of the steps help, report the defect to our support team.
Check the charging station
The scanner must touch the bottom of the charging station. Because of the safety loop on the back, you may need to press it down lightly from above, but not with force. The charging station and protective case must match. If you buy a replacement protective case, the charging station has to be modified.
The LED on the front of the charging station shows you whether it is charging:
Orange: The scanner is charging.
Green: It is not charging at the moment.
Charge with the cable
As a test, charge the scanner with the supplied USB-C cable instead of using the charging station.
Rule out the iPhone as the cause
Put another iPhone of the same model into the case. If the problem is gone, it is caused by the connector on your iPhone, for example dust. If the problem remains, the case is defective.
Check the connection in the app
In the WMS App, open Settings → Barcode scanner in the app menu. The scanner must appear there. When you press the scan button, the green banner Verbindung zum Barcode Scanner hergestellt! (Connection to the barcode scanner established!) appears.
Check the battery
If you no longer hear a sound when you press the scan button, the battery or the case is usually defective. The case's battery can be replaced. If you have a second scanner, test with its battery.
If the iPhone battery drains quickly
If the iPhone's battery is empty after three to four hours, the cause is the iPhone and not the scanner. With the option to share the scanner battery, the scanner also charges the iPhone. The scanner's battery then drains faster. You can find out where to find the option under How can I update my barcode scanners?
Report a defect to support
If none of the steps help, report the defect to our support team with the serial number and a short description of the symptoms. The serial number is on the top or inside of the case. To see it, take the iPhone out of the case.
We will then check whether a replacement or a replacement battery is an option. You can get replacement batteries through our support team. If the case is defective within the warranty period, we will send you a replacement device and a return label. Only devices you bought from Pickware are replaced. If you bought the case from a retailer, please contact them.
