Pickware automatically imports shipping methods from Shopify when an order is imported. If an imported order contains a shipping method with a name that Pickware does not yet know, Pickware creates a new shipping method for it.
Shipping methods are matched by their exact name
Pickware matches shipping methods from Shopify exclusively by their exact name. This results in a few rules:
Renaming creates a new shipping method. If you correct the name of a shipping method in Shopify, Pickware creates an additional shipping method on the next import.
Identical names end up in one shipping method. Multiple shipping rates with the same name become one shipping method in Pickware.
Multiple Shopify shops are not merged. Identically named shipping methods from different Shopify shops remain separate in Pickware.
If you want to use different DHL products for different destinations, name the shipping methods differently in Shopify, for example "DHL National" and "DHL EU". You can then assign the appropriate product to each shipping method in Pickware.
Attention: Every newly created shipping method needs a carrier and document printing settings in Pickware. Otherwise, the WMS App will not create a shipping label or print documents automatically for orders with this shipping method. To learn how to set up a shipping method, see How do I configure shipping methods so that the correct carrier products are selected automatically?
What happens if I change the shipping method in Shopify later?
Pickware applies the change automatically. Whenever an order is updated in Shopify, Pickware matches the shipping method again, not just on the first import. If a shipping method with the new name does not yet exist in Pickware, Pickware creates it. Then set it up as described above.
The shipping method cannot be changed in the Pickware Admin. You can find all options in How can I change a Shopify order in Pickware?
Why was no shipping method imported for an order?
Pickware only imports the shipping method if the order's location in Shopify matches the location you selected in Pickware. If the location differs, Pickware does not import a shipping method, and "No shipping added" appears. In this case, check which location the order is fulfilled from in Shopify.
How do I control which shipping method an order gets?
Rules like "from €150, DHL Parcel instead of small parcel" are set up in Shopify as shipping rates with a condition. Shopify allows only one condition per rate, so either weight or price. If you need both at the same time, you need a Shopify app.
