You create an e-invoice in ZUGFeRD format in Shopware 6 with a dedicated document type from Shopware. For most cases, the type Invoice: PDF with embedded ZUGFeRD e-invoice is the right choice: you can also select it in WMS document printing, and it provides a document image in the DATEV export.

The e-invoice is a Shopware feature. You can find the document type Invoice: PDF with embedded ZUGFeRD e-invoice under Settings → Shop → Documents. Company, address, and VAT Id must be fully entered, otherwise no e-invoice is created.

To create the e-invoice individually, open the order: click Create invoice and select the ZUGFeRD type.

To generate it automatically, use a flow with the action Generate document and the type ZUGFeRD invoice, for example in the flow Pickware ERP Completely Shipped or when the state changes to In progress.

In the WMS document printing of the shipping method, you can only select the embedded variant (PDF). The pure XML invoice cannot be printed and is therefore not available for selection there.

If the e-invoice cannot be selected in WMS document printing, update Pickware or generate it via a flow.

You cannot create an invoice correction for ZUGFeRD invoices. Instead, cancel the invoice with a cancellation invoice and create a new invoice. Return, stocking, and refund are not affected by this. You can find more in How do I create invoice corrections?

The DATEV export contains the booking for your e-invoice. However, a pure XML invoice has no document image. If you need document images, use the embedded variant. To learn how to export documents, see How do I perform a DATEV document export?

If an online validator reports errors in your e-invoice, contact Shopware. The file is generated by Shopware, not by Pickware.

If a third-party plugin expects the Shopware PdfRenderer, document generation fails together with the Pickware e-invoice bundle. Deactivate the plugin or have the vendor adapt it.
