How can I use Shopify tags in Pickware?

Use Shopify tags in Pickware for picking profiles, flows and demand planning, and remove tags deleted in Shopify from Pickware as well.

Tags that you set on products, orders or customers in Shopify are transferred to Pickware. There, you use them to filter orders in picking profiles, control flows and include or exclude products in demand planning.

What can you use tags for in Pickware?

  • Picking profiles: Filter orders in the picking profile by a tag to release them for picking in a targeted way.

  • Pickware Flow Builder: You can check order and customer tags as a condition in flows, for example to send an email to the responsible field sales representative or to create an invoice only once.

  • Demand planning: With Tag is or Tag is not, you include or exclude products.

Use tags instead of categories

Picking profiles cannot access categories. Therefore, use tags for filters and picking profiles. For example, you can automatically tag orders via Shopify Flow and filter by this tag in the picking profile. You can find out more about Shopify Flow in How can I use Shopify Flow with Pickware?

Why does a tag deleted in Shopify remain in Pickware?

If you delete a tag in Shopify, this is not transferred to Pickware. Pickware cannot distinguish whether a tag comes from Shopify or was set in Pickware, for example for a picking profile. Therefore, also remove the tag in Pickware.

Note: If you use a tag to control the processing of an order, for example via a picking profile, you only undo this control when you remove the tag in both Shopify and Pickware.

Remove a tag from many products

Tags cannot be removed via CSV import. For many products, proceed as follows:

  1. In the Pickware Admin, open Products → Overview.

  2. Filter the overview by the tag.

  3. Select the products and remove the tag using bulk edit.

Export tags

In the CSV export of the product profile, tags only appear as IDs, not as names. If you need the tag names, use the product export in Shopify. You export all products with a specific tag by filtering the stock overview by the tag and then exporting. More on this in How do I export data from Pickware as CSV?
