With the shipping service provider Address label, you can frank shipments yourself without using a carrier interface such as DHL or GLS. Instead of generating a shipping label through an external service provider, Pickware creates a PDF with the sender's and recipient's address, which you print out and stick onto the package together with a stamp. This is especially useful for letters and small parcels that you frank manually.
Setting up the shipping service provider
The shipping service provider Address label can be selected like any other shipping service provider and assigned per shipping method. In the shipping method's configuration, you set the label size – you can choose between A6, A7, 89 x 36 mm, 101 x 54 mm and 102 × 76 mm. The labels are generated in landscape orientation.
Generating the address label
When you create the shipment, Pickware generates a PDF with one page per package in the shipment. The sender's address appears small in the top left, while the recipient's address appears large and centered. The label is saved as a document attached to the shipment, so you can print it together with the other shipping documents.
The recipient's country is only printed if the sender's and recipient's countries differ. In that case, the country name appears in English, in capital letters, below the address.
Requirements for the recipient's address
For an address label to be generated, the recipient's address must be complete:
Either a first and last name or a company name must be provided.
The street and city fields must not be empty.
If the address is incomplete, the shipment fails with a corresponding error message and no label is created. In this case, add the missing address details and create the shipment again.
You can delete an address label that has already been created for the shipment. The shipping service provider Address label does not support tracking or return labels.
If you use Pickware WMS, a barcode with the order number is additionally printed in the top left corner. This allows the Pickware scanning device to identify the order when you scan the label.
