In this article, you will learn how to record the opening cash balance and correctly skim cash from your register.
Recording the opening cash balance
When you first put a cash register into operation, you need to record the opening cash balance before the first sale. To do this, make a deposit in the amount of the change fund and add a comment such as Opening cash balance or Initial cash balance, so that you can trace the deposit later.
If the cash register is not emptied completely every day but only skimmed down to the opening cash balance, you only need to record the opening cash balance once, because the closing cash balance of the previous day is always carried over automatically as the new opening cash balance.
Skimming cash from the register
If you want to skim cash from your register, you need to make a corresponding withdrawal. Here too, add a clear comment for the cash register report to make it easier to trace.
