Directory protection: connecting apps while the shop is not yet publicly accessible

Shopware 6 — Connect apps during the test phase by excluding /api and /media/image URLs from HTTP password protection.

If Shopware is merely in maintenance mode, you can log in with the apps without any problems. If the server is secured with a password prompt (HTTP Auth) during test operation, the following URLs must be excluded from it:

  1. /api

  2. /media/image

The first URL is already protected by a login from Shopware itself and is used for communication between the apps and the Pickware POS or Pickware WMS extension. The second URL must be excluded from authentication so that the product images can be displayed in the apps.

To exclude the URLs mentioned from the password prompt, please contact your agency or your hosting provider directly so that they can make the changes.

Connecting the Pickware extension to your Pickware account

Access protection also plays a role when you connect the Pickware extension to your Pickware account. Your browser redirects you to account.pickware.com and then back to your shop. If your shop or test environment is secured with a password prompt, this redirect can be blocked. The connection then fails. In this case, check the access protection of your test environment.
