How do I create labels for my storage bins?

With storage bin labels, you can further simplify your warehouse processes. For example, during a stocktaking or when stocking products, you can easily select the corresponding storage bin by scanning it.

You can generate storage bin labels directly in your Shopware Admin. To do so, go to Lagerhaltung (Warehousing) → Lager und Lagerplätze (Warehouses and Storage Bins) and select the desired warehouse. Switch to the Lagerplätze (Storage Bins) tab, select the storage bins you want to create labels for if needed, and click Etiketten erzeugen (Generate Labels) at the top.

Next, you can set the size of the labels:

You will now receive the generated labels sorted by storage bin identifier as a PDF file for download. The PDF file is optimized for label printers. You can find more information about this here.

Storage bin labels can basically be created with any tool that can generate barcodes (Code 128). To do this, the input must be in the following format:

  • ^3

  • the warehouse's abbreviation

  • $

  • the storage bin

For storage bin A-01-05 in the main warehouse (HL), this would look as follows: ^3HL$A-01_05.

How can I use Avery Zweckform labels with Pickware?

Currently, Pickware ERP only supports printing one label per page. This means that the widely used Avery Zweckform format (multiple labels on one sheet) is not currently directly selectable via the label template. However, you can still use this format via the print settings of your PDF viewer or printer driver.

Workaround: printing multiple labels on one page

  1. Create your labels as usual via Pickware (e.g., from goods receipt or the product details).

  2. Open the generated PDF file. This usually contains several pages with one label each.

  3. Open the print menu of your PDF viewer (e.g., Adobe Acrobat).

  4. Under Page Sizing & Handling, select the option Multiple.

  5. Then specify how many labels should be printed per page (e.g., 4 × 8 or 3 × 10, depending on the Avery Zweckform sheet used).

  6. Before the actual printing, do a test print on plain paper to check the alignment.

  7. You can find a detailed guide directly from Adobe: Print multiple pages per sheet (Adobe Acrobat)

If your printing program doesn't offer a multi-page function, you can use free online tools to merge multiple PDF pages into one page and then print as usual on Avery Zweckform sheets.
