How does picking product sets work?

Shopware 6 — Product sets are assembled from individual products during picking. They must be shipped in full and appear as single components on picklists.

In this article, you'll find information on picking product set products and how they behave compared to regular products.

Availability

Product sets have no stock of their own, since they are always assembled only during picking. The availability of the product set in the online shop is calculated based on the availability of the assigned products.

Product set products in the order

Just like with regular products, you can adjust the quantity afterwards for a product set product that is already in the order.

If you add a product set product to an existing order afterwards, for example during an order change, an exchange, or via API, Pickware automatically splits it into the products it contains.

Shipping and display on order documents

Product sets can only ever be shipped in full, to ensure a smooth process and error-free display on documents. The assigned products are shown on the picklist. In the WMS App, the product set additionally appears as its own row during picking and packing. When you scan its barcode, you confirm a complete set at once, see How does the packing process work in the WMS App?.

In the WMS App, the bin locations of the assigned products appear as soon as you tap Start picking. After shipping, the shipped amounts are shown on the assigned products, not on the product set product itself.

Bundles from third-party plugins

Bundles and surcharges from third-party plugins that are not stored as regular order items in the order are not displayed, or are displayed incorrectly, in the WMS. Therefore, use Pickware product sets. Pickware cannot guarantee compatibility with third-party plugins.
