How do returns of product set products work?

Shopware 6 — Returns of product sets work like regular orders, but stock is booked on the assigned products. Note the display errors on partial returns.

Returns and refunds for orders with product sets generally work like for regular orders. However, there are a few things to keep in mind, because your stock management is not done on the product set itself, but on the assigned products.

Exchange

An exchange of product sets is only possible if an entire product set is to be exchanged for the same product set. This can be handled as part of a complaint. The original order is returned and the replacement product is provided again.

If a different product is to be delivered instead, this is not possible directly within the same order. This applies in particular if a regular product is to be exchanged for a product set, or if a product set would have to be added afterwards. In these cases, you have to create a separate order.

Full return

If the entire product set is to be returned, select the product set and all assigned products when creating the return. You can then choose as usual which products are to be restocked or disposed of, and in which quantities. Since the product set itself has no stock, stock handling always refers to the assigned products.

Make sure that the quantity is entered under Restocked for all assigned products when restocking. If it is missing for a product, that product will not be restocked.

The invoice correction contains the product set and not the individual assigned products.

Partial return

If only individual components of a product set are sent back, you can generally select them in the return. Stock bookings are made on the assigned products.

Note, however, that partial returns of individual components of product sets are currently not displayed correctly on the invoice correction in all cases. If a correct invoice correction is required for the process, check it particularly carefully.

You cannot adjust the amount of a single component in the return. Instead, adjust it in the order: Click the arrow to the right of Add product, select Add blank line item, and enter the negative gross amount of the component in the Gross price field. Save the order and then create the invoice correction.

Returns of product sets in the WMS App

For returns of product sets, the WMS App always adds the product set itself as well, because it assumes that product sets are only returned as a whole. As a result, the amount is refunded twice. Here is how to clean up the return:

  1. In the return, set the return quantity of the product set to 0.

  2. Delete the existing invoice correction.

  3. Create a new invoice correction.
