What do I do if I have problems with the barcode scanner?

Below you'll find common sources of error when using the barcode scanner as well as suggested solutions.

Scanned items don't appear in the cart

If the barcode scanner scans but the desired items don't appear in the cart, this indicates that the barcode scanner isn't correctly connected to the iPad or iPod via Bluetooth. In this case, try to reconnect the scanner.

POS handheld scanner is connected but doesn't scan

If the iPad / iPod keyboard no longer appears because you're using the POS handheld scanner, or if items can't be scanned properly, it may be because the scanner is no longer in iOS mode. Follow the instructions here to put the barcode scanner back into iOS mode.

Reset scanner to factory settings

To troubleshoot, it can also help to first reset the scanner to factory settings (factory reset) and then reconnect it.

To perform a factory reset, scan the following code. It may be necessary to print the code so that the scanner can recognize it.

Alternatively, you can also perform the factory reset by pressing a button. You can find the exact procedure on page 25 of the manufacturer's manual.

After scanning the barcode or pressing the corresponding buttons, the barcode scanner should switch off. Then put the scanner back into iOS mode and connect it to your iOS device, as described here.
