You can update the firmware of connected barcode scanners in the WMS and POS App. To do so, open the app you want and go to Settings → Barcode scanners in the app menu. There you can see all connected devices. If a firmware update is available, a button to update appears.

Before the update starts, you confirm it in a dialog. The app points out the two conditions that apply during the update: the connection to the barcode scanner must not be interrupted, and the app must stay open in the foreground.

Afterwards, the Firmware update screen opens with a progress indicator in percent. This way you can see how far the transfer has progressed, and the app remains usable in the meantime — depending on the scanner model, you can also cancel a running update there.

In the scanner settings under Settings → Barcode scanners, the current battery level is displayed for each connected device. This way you can see at a glance whether a scanner needs to be charged.

You can also use the scanner's battery to charge your iPhone. To do so, enable the corresponding option for sharing the scanner battery in the scanner settings.
