Creating and managing storage bins

To create storage bins, go to Products → Inventory → Warehouse management and open the desired warehouse by clicking the pencil icon. Then switch to the Storage bins tab.

Adding storage bins manually

Individual storage bins can be added by clicking Add storage bin. Any string of characters can be defined as a storage bin here, regardless of the current storage bin structure.

Generating storage bins automatically

With Pickware ERP, you can also maintain multiple storage bins for each warehouse. In the warehouse overview, select the desired warehouse and click Generate storage bins in the Storage bins tab to open the storage bin generator.

The storage bin generator supports combining any number of components. A component can be of the type Alphabetic, Numeric, or Fixed text, where the fixed text is intended as a separator for the numeric or alphanumeric components.

For each component, you can define a character length, a start value, and an end value, and a leading zero can be added to numeric values so that the character length of the storage bins is always the same (e.g. 09 and 99). The storage bins in the image above would therefore be generated from A-1-1 to Z-99-9, resulting in a total of 23,166 different storage bins (see top right). Clicking Generate storage bins creates and displays all storage bins.

Managing storage bins

Individual storage bins can be deleted using the red icon, renamed with a double-click, and marked for label printing using the barcode icon. When you select a storage bin, you'll see all products stored there on the right.
