Under Products → Warehouse → Warehouse Management you can view and manage existing warehouses as well as create new ones. To start, the main warehouse (HL) has already been created for you.
To create a new warehouse, simply click the Create new warehouse button. The following dialog will then open:
Every warehouse must have a name and an abbreviation set before you can save it.
Out of all warehouses, one default shipping warehouse and one default returns warehouse must be defined. At the start, when only the main warehouse exists, this is also the default warehouse for shipping and returns. If you want to delete a warehouse marked as the default warehouse, you must first designate another warehouse as the default warehouse. As soon as you activate the corresponding option in the new warehouse, it will also be deactivated in the other warehouse, allowing you to delete it.
For a warehouse's stock to be taken into account for sales in the online shop and to count toward physical stock, the Stock available online checkbox must be activated. If this is not the case, the stock levels of the respective warehouse will only be displayed in the product details under the Warehouse section. This is helpful, for example, if you have separate branch warehouses whose stock should not be available in the online shop.
You can fill in the address and contact person fields for a warehouse either when creating the warehouse or at a later point in time. When you create a supplier order for this warehouse, this data will automatically be displayed as the delivery address on the letterhead.
Note: Through warehouse management, you can of course also represent virtual warehouses covering a subset of your product range. This makes sense, for example, if you have a returns warehouse or a replenishment warehouse. In general, the addresses can be identical for warehouses of any kind.
As soon as you confirm your data via the Save button, the Storage bins tab also becomes clickable. You can learn how to create and manage storage bins here.
