Creating a finleap connect account

To use the plugin, you need to register with finleap connect once. To do this, open the finleap connect account management in the backend under Customers → Payments → Account Management. If you are not logged in yet, the following notice appears:

Clicking on OK opens the following page, where you can log in with your existing account or register as a new user.

As soon as you click on Register, you also agree that we, as the plugin manufacturer, will receive permanent access to your account information that will be available in finleap connect in the future. This is necessary so that transactions from your new finleap connect account can be imported with the Bank reconciliation plugin.

In the next step, you can select your bank using the search function:

Which inputs are required on the next page depends on your bank, so we only want to give you a brief overview of how the individual variants work.

  • Variant 1: You enter the login details (username and password) for your online banking, and finleap connect uses your data to retrieve the transactions from your account.

  • Variant 2: You enter your IBAN and are then redirected to your bank's online banking page, where you log in and identify yourself as part of two-factor authentication using the factor of your choice. This way, finleap connect receives your account transactions without ever being in possession of your login details.

  • Variant 3: This variant works similarly to variant 2. The difference is that after the two-factor authentication, you have to confirm once more that you agree to finleap connect being given access to your data.

You can also decide whether you want to save your PIN or password. This allows the plugin to import transactions without having to log in to finleap connect again. In addition, this is a requirement for the automatic import of new bank transactions via the cronjob.

If you decide not to save the PIN, you will be redirected to the finleap connect login page every time you import new transactions from the backend and will have to log in again there. Logging in authorizes finleap connect to retrieve current account transactions. Only once this synchronization between your bank accounts and finleap connect is in place can new transactions be queried and imported from finleap connect by our plugin.

Now select the accounts that should be synchronized with finleap connect in the future and click NEXT. The window then closes, and you end up back in the backend.
