Why does the automated import of transactions only happen four times a day?

Due to legal requirements, the automatic synchronization of your bank account with finleap connect using a stored PIN, i.e. without user interaction, may only be performed a maximum of four times within 24 hours.

Quote from Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2018/389 of 27 November 2017:

Article 36

[...]

(5) Account information service providers shall be able to access information from designated payment accounts and associated payment transactions held by account servicing payment service providers for the purposes of providing the account information service in either of the following cases:

a) whenever the payment service user is actively requesting such information;

b) where the payment service user does not actively request such information, no more than four times in a 24-hour period, unless a higher frequency is agreed between the account information service provider and the account servicing payment service provider, with the payment service user's consent.

If it is necessary for your business operations to synchronize or import transaction data beyond this, the following option is currently available:

  1. Open the finleap connect account management under Customers → Payments → Account Management and log in.

  2. Click on UPDATE.

  3. Select the corresponding accounts and click on FINISH.

The process of logging in again with your email address and password counts as user interaction, so even though your PIN is stored and four synchronization processes between your bank accounts and finleap connect have already taken place, you can now import your transaction data into the backend again.

Note: If you have not stored your PIN and enter it manually each time, you can perform the synchronization as often as you like during the day.
