The quote process provided by the Quotes plugin is divided into the following steps:
Create quote
In the first step, the quote is put together in the shop frontend. This process step can be carried out either by the shop owner or by the customer. This requires an active customer account.
Edit quote
In the second step, the actual quote is created by applying discounts to the individual quote line items. In addition, the quote can be declared as time-limited or free of shipping costs, for example.
Release quote
In the third step, the completed quote is released to the customer so that the customer can accept or reject it. For time-limited quotes, this also marks the start of the acceptance period.
Update quote
In this step, you can subsequently make changes to the quote line items as well as the item quantity within the cart, and create a new quote document.
Accept quote
In the final step, the quote is “converted” into an order by transferring the quote line items to the cart in the shop frontend, after which the shop's usual checkout process is carried out. This process step can be carried out either by the shop owner or by the customer.
