Accepting a quote

By accepting it, a quote is “converted” into an order. To do this, the discounted quote line items are transferred to the frontend cart and the usual checkout process is carried out. To document the quote relationship of the newly created order, it is linked to the quote.

Quotes can be accepted either by the shop owner on behalf of a customer or by the customer themselves.

Accepting a quote from the shop owner's perspective

  1. Open the relevant quote in the backend.

  2. In the quote dialog, click the Accept quote button. This automatically redirects you, in the context of the customer, to the checkout page of the shop frontend.

  3. Adjust the billing and shipping address as well as the payment and shipping method as needed, and complete the order. The order is automatically linked to the quote, and the quote PDF is listed in the Documents tab of the newly created order.

Accepting a quote from the customer's perspective

  1. Switch to the customer account view of the shop frontend. If you are not yet logged in, please log in to the shop first.

  2. Click the Quotes entry in the user menu to display the list of shared quotes.

  4. Click the Accept quote button. You will then automatically be redirected to the checkout page, and the discounted quote line items will be transferred to the cart.

  5. You are now in quote mode. Here, cart changes are only possible to a limited extent. For example, items that are included in the quote cannot be deleted from the cart or have their quantity adjusted. This ensures that the actual quote content is ordered during the checkout process. Now adjust the billing and shipping address as well as the payment and shipping method as needed, and complete the order as usual.

Quote mode is automatically exited once the order is completed. However, if the quote acceptance is to be cancelled prematurely, the mode must be exited manually in order to use the shop with the usual cart functionality again. To do this, a corresponding info banner is displayed at the top of the page, which both informs you about quote mode and provides the option to exit it at any time.
